The term "networking" when referred to by African Americans is a conceptual fallacy. The reason I surmise that "networking" between African Americans is a conceptual fallacy is because "networking between African Americans doesn't exist. The reason it doesn't exist is because "networking" between African Americans defies the properties of physics. African Americans by majority rule are 100% consumers therefore "networking." among total consumers defies the law of physics and the properties of supply and demand
PHYSICS
In a world of physics where opposites attract and like poles repel two producers will not"Network" they will instead "barter" services. No "networking" is required between producers because as producers they repel each other and therefore must focus on a mutual target of opposite attraction to wit: the consumer.
Therefore if like poles repel (two producers) then to truly "network" one must be a producer and the other a consumer and since the majority of producers are non-blacks that means that it is highly improbable if not impossible for two African Americans to network together when both are consumers.
SUPPLY AND DEMAND
The rational to this thinking is that any item a African American can acquire another African American can obtain that same item and since both African Americans are 100% consumers it negates the concept of networking because the item in question neither of them produces.
In conclusion true Networking" is only possible between a producer and a consumer because the consumer can attract new consumers for the producer.
Since the majority of African Americans don't produce anything, it brings me back to the beginning of my hypothesis that true networking is a conceptional fallacy especially when you factor in the equation that African Americans are consumers. .... Am I wrong?
TRUST AND MISTRUST
I agree with you that envy among and between blacks is also a major factor, obstacle and deterrent to black on black business but ask a black person what is the "real" secret to a "truly" long lasting network relationship and the majority will respond trust.
Ask them what will destroy a "True" networking relationship beyond the point of repair and return and the overwhelming response would be mistrust.
Trust and mistrust comes as no surprise because we all agree that trust is a beautiful thing.
If we are in consensus with the above equation that trust builds, mistrust destroys and that envy exist then it should also stand to logic and reasoning that because blacks mistrust and envy one another "true networking" does not, can not nor could not exist.
Thus far we have isolated 2 critical reasons why "true networking" in the hood can not exist but there is also a third reason.
NETWORKING TAKES COURAGE
It is a gross misconception and fantasy is to believe that you can successfully network with other black people without having the courage to do so. It does not matter what business opportunity comes your way if you lack the courage to invest your fortune, talent, skills and time with someone you don't know.
To do the business of networking in the global equation of the 21st century African Americans must accentuate courage.
It takes courage to meet new people. It takes courage to do business with strangers. It takes examples of courage to know that courage even exist. In your realm of life, belief or study if you know any stories or topics of courage, post them. Reading and writing stories that exemplify courage are necessary before blacks can seriously consider "true" networking with other blacks in "real-time."
BEFORE YOU CAN ACT IT OUT YOU FIRST MUST BE ABLE TO WRITE IT OUT
Through reading and writing blacks will courageously venture beyond self-segregated comfort zones. Reading, writing, articulating, critiquing, discussion and posting builds self confidence not envy.
Attitude is irrelevant when you learn and master reading without prejudice. The key is to discern from a conversation or story whether the person whom is talking is talking to you or about you. Many blacks acquire frustrations and attitudes when reading because the have not mastered the art of comprehension discernment.
The various messages and topics posted on this type of venue and group discussion board are essential for the expressed purpose of perfecting,mastering or overcoming discernment deficiencies. Reading, writing, articulating, critiquing, discussing and replying sharpens, focuses and produces "true" networking skills.
On-line black communities needs to prepare blacks to operate out and beyond the borders of self segregation but venturing out takes literary confidence and courage. A black person needs literary skills because before you can act it out you must be able to write it out.
Through reading and writing African Americans will gain courage by perfecting their literary skills and focus. Reading increases word terminology and writing enables you to say the most with the least amount of words.
In this reply I am talking to you about us as a people because if we fail to strategy a workable equation for our inclusion into the global marketing equation of the 21st century it won't matter what level of "networking" we profess to be on because, when the wagon comes we all will go.
It is "all for one and one for all" " I strongly advocate the "Undercover Smart Agenda" because that is something we all have in "true network" common.
